Dr. Wassim Khoury
Doctor of Chiropractic
Dr. Wassim Khoury received his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Bio-Chemistry from
the Bridgewater State College and his Doctorate from Palmer College of Chiropractic
in 1995. He continued his studies post graduate in enzyme nutrition and bio-mechanics.
While at Palmer, Dr. Khoury was very involved with the sports injury club and later
ecame the president until graduation. The Khoury Centre for Health and Wellnesss
was founded in 1996 by Drs. Wassim and Dawn Khoury. The Khoury Centre For Health
and Wellness focuses on treating the body as a whole through chiropractic care,
nutritional counseling and education. The centre expanded in 2004 and is now in
two locations, Dedham and Bellingham Massachusetts
Dr. Khoury believes that stress (or interference on the body) is the root of all
dis-ease and can be caused by a variety of factors including toxins, structural
issues, negative emotions, allergies, and poor nutrition. Dr. Khoury incorporates
a variety of complementary and alternative therapies into his treatments for best
results. Dr. Khoury continues to pursue his education to understand more about
the human body in order to help others get back on the road to optimal health. Together
with all the doctors the Khourys have brought into the practic, he prides himself
in being a leader in what he does.
Dr. Khoury is a member of the International Chiropractic Association, The World
Chiropractic Alliance and The Massachusetts Chiropractic Society and former President
of the Dedham Rotary Club.
Dr. Dawn Khoury grew up in New York and held aspirations
of becoming an elementary, special-ed teacher, however, she soon became disheartened
with the politics of the profession. Having been under chiropractic care most
of her life, and believing in a holistic health care model, she changed her major
to pre-med and set her sites on chiropractic school. Upon her graduation from
Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1994 she immediately enrolled in a 1000 hour post-doctoral
diplomate program in chiropractic pediatrics. She is now one of only 200 pediatric
chiropractors in the country. In her 10 years of practice she has successfully
integrated her love of children and her love of chiropractic. Dr. Dawn has
committed her life to helping sick children find health through chiropractic care,
nutrition and education as well as avoiding drugs and surgery. She still enjoys
working with "special" children and she still educates each day both in her practice
and through community lectures. In addition to being a chiropractor Dr. Dawn
is a full-time mother of two and volunteers her time in the PTO.
Dr. Edward Doherty, (fondly referred to as Dr. Chip)
is a Chiropractic Sports Physician who has been practicing since 1984. He practiced
in West Roxbury from 1988 to 2005 and has practiced in Dedham since then.
He practiced in Gloucester, Massachusetts, before opening his practice in West Roxbury.
He is a 1984 graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa.
He has enjoyed advanced training in the diagnosis and treatment of whiplash type
injuries. He believes in a multi-disciplinary approach, and uses many types of medical
professionals when indicated, in order to return his patients to pre-accident health.
He has also had advanced post-doctorate training in chiropractic neurology.
He is board-certified in sports medicine by the American Chiropractic Association's
Sports Council. His post-doctorate sports medicine training from New York Chiropractic
College has included the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of sports injuries,
athletic performance and success, injury prevention, and clinical & sports nutrition.
A few years ago, he was asked to be the team chiropractor for the New England Patriots
for a game. Nothing could have been more fantastic or such an honor for him
than to be able to adjust almost all of the players and two of the coaches of his
favorite sports team, prior to the game. "It was great fun being on the
sidelines, watching a professional football game up close and personal. If
you think the players are fast and hits sound loud in the stands, wait until you
stand on the sidelines. It was amazing. It was a boyhood dream come
true."
He is an U.S. Army veteran, was an armored/tank crewman and honorably discharged
from active duty in 1977. He is a native of Newton, Massachusetts and is a
member of Grace Chapel in Lexington, Massachusetts. He currently resides in
Westwood.
Dr. Doherty's personal interests include computers, especially Internet related
aspects, as well as hiking and reading. He also enjoys watching sports, particularly
New England Patriots football, as you can imagine. His wife and best friend
Paula was the best office manager of Doherty Chiropractic there ever was.
She now works in education. They are the proud parents of one of the brightest
and sweetest little girls God has ever created, Kayla Lynn Doherty.
Dr. Jennah Dieter earned her bachelors degree in Health
and Exercise Science from Wake Forest University in the year 2000. Shortly
thereafter, she joined the Khoury Centre "family" and served as the Office Manager
and Clinical Assistant. She developed a passion for helping people optimize
their health through the power of chiropractic and was motivated to pursue a Doctor
of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic. During her years at
Palmer, she embarked on a chiropractic mission trip to Bahia, Brazil where she provided
chiropractic care to the underserved people of rural Brazil. She then interned
with the Khoury Centre prior to graduating Summa Cum Laude from chiropractic school.
Dr. Jennah focuses her care on low and moderate force adjusting methods for families
including children and pregnant mothers. She also provides nutritional counseling
and weight loss programs, energy balancing, organ reflex analysis, sacro-occipital
technique, and natural alternatives to balancing female hormones. Dr. Jennah
is completing an extensive 3 year program in the field of chiropractic pediatrics.
